On the spur of the moment I decided to start this kit "club" endeavor after some friendly encouragement from Barbara Espinosa, one of my creative muses. As if a jazz musician/ Federal officer husband and a one year-old daughter aren't enough to keep me busy, this is one more thing that'll do the trick!
I love kits, and I luv collecting, but I want to share these affinities. I'm a Libra--a sharer. And it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to know that an idea and a passion can inspire others as well.
I have been scrapbooking for seven years, but paper crafting and fiddling with little do-dads for as long as I can remember. I enjoy playing with paper just as much as I love the idea of preserving memories. With a Master's degree in English, I love playing with words, themes and ideas. Scrapbooking has always allowed me the freedom to create with no limits or boundaries. Whether poetry or prose, or pretty-made pictures, I love paper arts as a way to pay homage to the people and things that make me who I am.
Getting back into the craft saddle has been a busy time, as I took a sabbatical for about three years, while “life”—with all of its sky highs and abysmal lows—happened. I love color and all things fun and unique, and I try to release my creative inhibitions as I work.
My scrapbooking style is a hodge-podge of sorts. I never know what’ll end up on a page or project. My "creative ritual" (if you could call it that) often involves gazing into the photograph, trying to "feel" what the image is portraying, and then reproduce that feeling in a layout's design. As a result, each layout or altered item tends to be unique. However, there is a thread of consistency between my layouts--they each have a particular feel, and I hope they convey some emotion!
